Data Storage Vendor, NetApp, Still Growing

What do you do when you go from zero to $1 billion in six years? Easy answer -- you expand operations and hire. California-based NetApp Inc. says there will be substantial, continued investments in its metro Detroit office. According to this WWJ Newsroom report, NetApp also views cloud computing and data storage as a sales opportunity.


"'A number of cloud service providers are Net App customers, and we are not going to compete with them,' Giannetti said. 'There will not be a cloud offering from Net App. We will build the best storage solutions for cloud providers. For a select few we will open up our sales organization to be a channel for a cloud provider.'"

"NetApp storage systems already host Oracle's ERP software offering, SAP's online offering and Yahoo mail. Oh, and Weta Workshop, the digital wizards behind the amazing effects in the movie 'Avatar.'"
