Tandberg Launches Dedupe Software, Storage Networking Appliance

Making a move from being just a tape storage vendor, Tandberg Data has unveiled the Tandberg Data AccuGuard backup and recovery software in addition to the new DPS2000 unified NAS and SAN appliance. As noted on Channel Web, Tandberg is making the transition from tape to complete data protection solutions, however, its core strength remains off-site data protection.

"Tandberg unveiled the Tandberg Data AccuGuard backup and recovery software for automated SMB data protection in physical and virtual Windows server environments, said McClain Bugle, product director in charge of disk product for the Boulder, Colo.-based storage vendor.

"The company also unveiled its new DPS2000 unified NAS and SAN appliance for SMBs which includes a full range of software features including dedupe, Bugle said."
