Sepaton Offers Midrange VTL Deduplication System

Sepaton is shipping a new deduplication virtual tape library (VTL) for medium-sized businesses that comes bundled with new versions of the company's DeltaStor and DeltaRemote software. As described in this InfoStor article, The S2100-MS2 VTL is a rack-ready dual-node system, bundled with Sepaton's DeltaStor data deduplication software.

"Sepaton also rolled out new versions of its DeltaStor data deduplication and DeltaRemote replication software in conjunction with the launch of the S2100-MS2.

"DeltaStor version 5.3 features new support for EMC NetWorker versions 7.3, 7.4 and 7.5. DeltaStor software can now dedupe all data types for supported versions of Symantec NetBackup, IBM TSM, HP Data Protector, and NetWorker.

"Sepaton also tweaked DeltaStor 5.3 to improve deduplication for incremental backups, structured data and previously unsupported data types."
