Brocade, EMC Integrate Gear for Private Clouds

Brocade and EMC have announced integrated switching and storage solutions that lay the groundwork for building private clouds for Microsoft Exchange, SharePoint, and Oracle Database 11g environments. As noted in this Infostor report, the solutions are not comprised of new products.

"The solutions combine Brocade and EMC technologies, including EMC tiered storage platforms with Brocade's DCX Data Center Backbone infrastructure, Microsoft Hyper-V and VMware vSphere virtualization solutions management software, Brocade DCX and RSA Key Manager for fabric-based encryption, and EMC RecoverPoint with Brocade fabric-splitter technology.

"The underlying EMC storage systems include Clariion (for SharePoint and Exchange) and the Symmetrix V-Max and Celerra unified storage systems (for Oracle Database 11g)."
