Storage Disk Array Market Shifts

According to a recent report from IDC, the external disk array market posted a 17.1 percent year-over-year revenue gain in Q1 2010, hitting $5 billion. Also noted in this news report on InfoStor is that EMC retained the #1 spot with a 24.6 percent market share.

"Dell grew 21.8% in the quarter to catch HP in a dead heat for fourth place. Both vendors had a market share of slightly more than 10%.

"EMC retained the #1 spot with a 24.6% market share.

"Overall, the open SAN market grew 20.3%, while the NAS market grew 44.6% and the iSCSI market gained 45.7%."
