OCZ Introduces Vertex Line of Solid State Drives

The OCZ Technology Group has recently introduced two new of 2.5-inch solid state drives (SSD) that are powered by SandForce's SF-1500 controller, the Vertex 2 Pro and Vertex 2 EX. According to this report on Tech Connect, both drives feature superior ECC protection enabling RAID-like protection and recovery, have TRIM support, a MTBF (mean time before failure) of 2 million hours, are capable of maximum read and write speeds of 285 MB/s and 275 MB/s, respectively, and deliver 4KB random writes of up to 50,000 IOPS (Input/Output per second).
