Vizioncore Announces FlashRestore Technology

Vizioncore has announced that FlashRestore technology will be available later this year as an add-on to its flagship backup and restore product, vRanger Pro. As noted in the company's news release on Market Watch, FlashRestore technology reinvents image-based recovery by making Virtual Machine (VM) backup images immediately available by booting them directly from the vRanger Pro backup repository, thereby raising application availability service levels.

"Recovery of entire VM images often wastes time because the entire Virtual Machine Disk (VMDK) file must be copied from the backup repository to the hypervisor system over the network. Depending on the size of the file and network traffic, the recovery process can take hours to complete. With the addition of FlashRestore technology for vRanger Pro, images are instantly available for use by applications. Without any disruption in their use of the VM, end users can continue working, maintaining productivity while the VMDK file is relocated using VMware Storage VMotion from the backup repository."
