Datalink Announces $8M Disaster Recovery Project Win

Datalink.com announced in a press release that it has been awarded an eight million dollar project. Datalink will optimize a Midwestern global IT consulting and software company's disaster recovery (DR) capabilities, consolidate and virtualize the storage infrastructure for their data center, and provide customer support.

"Datalink also recommended that the customer consolidate and virtualize its existing block-based data storage environment, as well as consolidate its file services infrastructures. By doing this, it will eliminate the need for hundreds of file servers, along with related management cycles and maintenance costs. In addition, the virtual, shared storage environment will streamline the ability to deliver additional storage capacity on demand. For long term archival, Datalink will deploy a Quantum tape-based infrastructure and leverage the customer's existing backup software investment."
