Ixia, Emulex to Demo Advanced Virtualized Data Center

A joint demonstration by Ixia and Emulex was reported on in a MarketWatch.com press release. The demo of the advanced virtualized data center, the multi-vendor unified network used for storage traffic, and the converged IP are taking place at booth 1636 at VMWorld. The advantages of next-generation data solutions – which include a lower overall cost of ownership with no losses in performance and reliability – are highlighted by this display.

"The convergence of network and storage I/O as well as the consolidation of multiple switching frameworks using Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE) and data center bridging (DCB) technologies will deliver major cost savings. Testing such networks requires a truly unified, high-density test platform that is able to characterize the performance of converged traffic forwarding, end-to-end, from virtual hosts to the storage area network (SAN)."
