EMC Benefits From Data Explosion
Independent Data Corp. says data could grow by as much as 44 times in the next decade. This data needs to be managed and that need has created a niche market. EMC is a company that was built on its data storage expertise, reports JS Online, which makes it well-positioned to benefit from many of the efforts to collect and analyze data. EMC is developing some of the most innovative products in areas such as backup and recovery, data protection and security, and analytics.

"Spending on information technology during the next four years is expected to increase 5% to 7% annually, Drzadinski said. Storage revenue may grow even faster, to as much as 10% a year, he said."
