Based on JMR's successful Fortra storage line, these IDE systems are designed to deliver performance and scalability at an affordable price to IT professionals in a 3U footprint. Fortra IDE storage systems are available in Ultra 160 SCSI or 2GB Fibre Channel configurations.
"Fortra IDE storage systems promise users the optimal high-performance RAID solution, with capacities ranging from 960GB to 1.44TB for a wide range of applications. With ATA drives providing 400,000 hours MTBF (mean time before failure) they provide a robust and long-lasting storage foundation," said Josef Rabinovitz, president and CEO, JMR Electronics. "Users have been asking for an affordable, yet powerful IDE RAID solution to satisfy daily demands, and our Fortra IDE is an unbeatable answer to these requests, offering a family of products with superior performance and architecture for desktop, server and SAN use."
Powered by sophisticated RAID controller technology, the 12-bay Fortra IDE disk array solutions feature a 64-bit architecture centered around a dedicated XOR ASIC and advanced firmware function run by the PowerPC 603e/750 RISC processor. With this architecture, data is distributed and processed at an unprecedented speed through CPU, memory, and drives with a burst rate up to 533MB/second. The dual independent PCI bus design efficiently eliminates bandwidth bottlenecks for IO traffic, allowing overall system performance to reach up to 135MB/second (sustained reads) with the Ultra160 SCSI model, for example, and up to 200MB/sec. (sustained reads) with the 2GB Fibre Channel version.
The RAID array in all models (Ultra 160 SCSI or 2GB Fibre Channel) can be configured to levels 0, 1 (0+1), 3, 5 and 10. Each array allows one drive failure without impact on the existing data, and drive rebuild is transparent to the host and system. Environmental information is accessible via the RAIDGuide Manager or VT-100 compatible terminal emulation.https://o1.qnsr.com/log/p.gif?;n=203;c=204650394;s=9477;x=7936;f=201801171506010;u=j;z=TIMESTAMP;a=20392931;e=iFibre Channel and Ultra 160 SCSI Fortra IDE Solutions
JMR's Fibre-to-IDE system delivers up to 200MB/second performance in a 3U-high, rackmounted Fibre Channel solution. With a maximum capacity of 1.92TB per enclosure, the Fibre-to-IDE system features 1Gb/second or 2Gb/second host support, ATA disk support (including ATA, ATA-66, ATA-100 and ATA-133 drives), up to 1GB cache memory, an embedded, single channel RAID controller, hot swappable drives, dual hot swappable power supplies, dual hot swappable blowers, and software to create and manage RAID arrays.
The 3U-high rackmounted Ultra 160 SCSI-to-IDE system delivers up to 100MB/s throughput and also scales to 1.92TB capacity. The SCSI-to-IDE version features Ultra 160 host support, ATA disk support (including ATA, ATA-66, ATA-100 and ATA-133 drives), up to 1GB cache memory, hot swappable drives, dual hot swappable power supplies, dual hot swappable blowers, and embedded, single channel RAID controller and software to create and manage arrays.
Fortra IDE systems are available now, with MSRP pricing starting at $9,950 for the SCSI-IDE line and $10,950 for Fibre-IDE. Additional information for the JMR's Fortra IDE product line is available on JMR's Web site.
