Datalink Corporation this week announced it has selected Cisco Systems for its IP storage networking initiative. Datalink said will add the Cisco SN 5420 Storage Router, which uses iSCSI protocol, to its suite of storage solutions.

"We are excited about this new relationship with Cisco," said Scott Robinson, chief technology officer at Datalink. "The Cisco SN 5420 Storage Router enhances the value of new and existing network storage infrastructures. This storage router complements our current range of storage solutions by adding the new iSCSI connectivity technology that is quickly being embraced by the leading companies in the information storage industry."

"Cisco has identified our channels strategies as critical to entering the storage networking market successfully," said Jim Schneibel, a business development manager at Cisco. "We recognize that the efforts of storage industry leaders such as Datalink in integrating iSCSI into real-world enterprise storage environments will help drive the wide adoption of IP-enabled storage networking."
