Platypus Strategy to Expand Solid-State Storage Market

Platypus Technology today announced a multi-faceted channel strategy for its storage systems aimed at expanding the potential of solid-state across a wide variety of industries.

The Platypus Partnership Program incorporates several categories including: Professional Services, Technology Alliances, Systems Integrators and Resellers. Rightsizing, Inc., Vector ESP, The Root Group, SUN's SolutionsSite and CDW have been appointed as channel partners for Platypus' solid-state storage systems.

"Platypus' channel strategy and coordinating partners are strongly aligned with the company's goals and mission - to offer customers data delivery with unbeatable price/performance ratios. Channel partners such as Rightsizing take pride in providing their customers with the very latest in storage and application technologies," said Tim McCarthy, vice president, business development. "Platypus is pleased to work with carefully chosen partners to help ensure total client satisfaction as well as further emphasize the changing mindshare in the solid-state storage market."

Platypus said its DRAM-based storage systems are used for speeding up the delivery of e-commerce databases, email servers, delivering streaming data, and obtaining maximum application performance. According to Platypus, its storage products free applications from the I/O bottlenecks caused by hard drive-based storage, allowing mission critical files to run from silicon, rather than from rotating platters.
