Computer Associates International’s (CA) BrightStor Enterprise Backup has been certified for Microsoft’s Windows 2000 Datacenter Server. This certification comes on top of certifications for Windows 2000 Advanced Server and Windows 2000 Server Editions.

The certification testing was conducted by VeriTest, the testing division of Lionbridge Technologies. The company said this certification assures customers of BrightStor Enterprise Backup’s seamless integration with Microsoft’s server platform. It also qualifies CA to use the “Certified for Microsoft Windows” logo for each of these editions.

“CA is part of an elite group of vendors who have successfully met the stringent requirements of Microsoft’s Windows 2000 Datacenter Server and Advanced Server certification through VeriTest,” said Jim Bampos, senior vice president, VeriTest. “This certification provides Microsoft customers with the assurance that CA’s BrightStor Enterprise Backup can support their business-critical applications.”

According to the comapny, BrightStor Enterprise Backup was put through a 48-hour stress test on a 32-way server configuration to ensure its reliability, as well as a 24-hour crash recovery and fault tolerance test on a four-node eight-way server configuration to validate its high availability features. CA was also audited for 24 x 7 live technical support as part of the certification process.
