US Data and HITACHI Sign $33 Million Storage Agreement

Online data storage company US Data Authority Inc. today announced it has signed an initial $33 million dollar contract with HITACHI Data Systems to expedite the delivery of the data storage hardware and support necessary to launch a national Internet Storage Infrastructure built on US Data's existing storage network.

Dominick F. Maggio, US Data's Chief Operating Officer, said, "Partnering with HITACHI is a solid step forward for US Data, and will make us a total solutions provider for businesses. US Data's existing network gives us a great `first mover' advantage that few have in delivering an online data storage solution. With the quality of the HITACHI product, as well as their ongoing technical support, US Data will earn a position of leadership in data storage."

According to US Data, it has already taken delivery of the first portion of the HITACHI Freedom Storage(TM) 9960 equipment, which US Data plans to build out to a capacity of over 1,000 terabytes of online storage within 36 months. Terms of the agreement include equity participation by HITACHI.
