Emulex Corp. , a supplier of storage networking host bus adapters (HBAs), will provide the Fibre Channel connectivity solution for Hewlett-Packard Co.’s HP Surestore NAS 8000 series of storage solutions.

The Emulex LP952L, which is embedded into the HP solution, enables connectivity for direct-attached and SAN-attached configurations. “Our relationship with HP has resulted in a variety of both hardware and software development initiatives and helped enable HP to deliver powerful and high availability storage networking capabilities,” said Kirk Roller, Emulex chief operating officer.

The Emulex family of HBAs offers a firmware-based architecture and operating system driver compatibility across Emulex’s entire HBA product line. Emulex said today’s announcement extends Emulex’s relationship with HP and builds upon other recently announced design wins, which include certification of the Emulex LP8000 and LP9002L to enable connectivity for the HP Surestore disk arrays XP512, XP48 and the VA7100.
