Quantum Reaches Milestone for Sales of NAS Units

Quantum Corp. today announced its highly acclaimed Snap Server(R) family of products has reached a milestone with an installed base of over 100,000 units, more than any other Network Attached Storage (NAS) vendor. Quantum has also recently received top honors from key industry publications, including "Best New Technology at FOSE 2002" in the server category from Government Computer News for the portable Snap Server 1100; "Editor's Choice" awards from both PC Magazine and Network News for the Snap Server 12000; and the "What Works(TM) CRM Top Ten 2001" award from industry analyst firm Aberdeen Group. In addition, Quantum was named a "Company to Watch in 2002" by Network Computing for building upon its leadership in workgroup NAS by expanding its offerings to include a new product line for the mid-tier NAS market.

"Receiving such high honors for Quantum and its NAS appliances is a testament to our dedication to delivering solid, robust products to the NAS market," said Steve Rogers, vice president of marketing for Quantum's Storage Solutions Group. "We will continue to strengthen our existing product line as well as offer new, innovative products in order to provide customers with storage alternatives that optimize price/performance for a range of storage needs."

The Snap Server line from Quantum has received more than 50 awards since it was first introduced in 1998. The Snap Server product family includes the desktop model Snap Server 1100 40GB and 80GB, and the Snap Server 2200 160GB. The Snap Server 4100 240GB, 320GB and 480GB are 1U rack-mountable units. The Snap Server 12000 is a 3U 960GB product featuring hot swap drives and redundant hardware for corporate departments and large workgroups.
