Mountain View Data (MVD) has announced that its newly released MVD Powered NAS 1.0 software has passed validation tests on IBM's xSeries servers.

Per Larson, Vice President of Solutions for IBM eServer, said, "the combination of MVD Powered NAS 1.0 software with IBM xSeries is another example of IBM's commitment to finding and partnering with vendors like Mountain View Data who provide powerful and innovative technology that when combined with IBM infrastructure provide the best possible solutions to our customers. The high performance and availability of the combined products are cornerstones for providing storage solutions to meet today's demanding marketplace needs."

According to the company, MVD Powered NAS 1.0 is a software kit for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) that turns PC servers into network attached storage (NAS) appliances, supporting Windows, Unix and Macintosh files. During November, Mountain View Data and IBM engineers successfully performed extensive validation tests at IBM's testing center in San Mateo, California.
