Savage I/O Launches DataBrick

Buffalo News reports that Joshua and Phillip Roberto plan to take on the likes of Hewlett-Packard and Dell with a new data-storage system. Savage I/O was launched with the help of more than $800,000 of their $1.5 million goal in venture capital.

Savage has patents pending for a data storage and server machine, the DataBrick. Units are made up of drives, which are arranged in a manner to be more space efficient boosts accessibility and functionality.


"’HP is like the Titanic — they’re huge; they have massive overhead,’ he said. ‘We don’t have those requirements. . . . When we identify a problem, we can circle the thing; we don’t have to send out 500 memos.’”
