Stratus Extends Dot Hill Partnership for Scalable Storage Product Line
Dot Hill Systems Corp. (Nasdaq: HILL) has announced Stratus Technologies has selected the Dot Hill 3000 Series next-generation storage platform for their storage line to address the continuous availability data management requirements for mission-critical applications in the financial services, healthcare, manufacturing, public safety, government, and travel & transportation sectors. As noted in this news release, since 2006, Stratus Technologies has leveraged Dot Hill AssuredSAN based storage platforms as the foundation for its ftScalable storage solution for all Intel processor-based ftServer lines supporting Windows, Linux, VMware, and Stratus' own VOS operating system.
"Launched in February 2010, Dot Hill's next-generation 3000 Series features support for higher performance 8Gb Fibre Channel storage area networks (SANs), dual interface 8Gb Fibre Channel and iSCSI, and enhanced data management capabilities. In addition, the new 3000 Series offers increased energy efficiency by supporting automatic drive spin-down technology which, in addition to Dot Hill's patented battery-free alternative for cache memory protection, provides further energy cost savings for "green" end users. Availability features such as redundant, hot-swappable components, online firmware upgrades, and hot spares are augmented by optimized SAS drive topology handling and integration with the Stratus Active Service Network features unique to Stratus."
