PowerFile(TM), a manufacturer of near-line storage products today announced a developer program to provide PowerFile's Software Developer Kit (SDK) and developer technical support to help create and integrate custom software solutions for PowerFile's CD/DVD jukebox products.

According PowerFile, the program will allow developers to create their own interface and write their own code to integrate with PowerFile's products. The inclusion of the PowerFile SDK will give developers ActiveX control for Windows, Visual Basic sample code and documentation. Visual C and Visual Basic developers will have full programmatic access to the PowerFile C200 with the PDP. PowerFile will also promote and co-market developers' products and services on the PowerFile web site.

Currently, developers can use PowerFile's C200, a CD/DVD jukebox with a 200-disc capacity, a dual drive and FireWire- (IEEE-1394) connected jukebox to allow users to manage, share and store digital assets over a network. The PDP is available for $495 per year.
