Network Appliance, Oracle Announce Joint Service Agreement

Network Appliance, Inc. , a provider of network-attached data access and content delivery solutions, today announced that it has teamed with Oracle Consulting to develop the Oracle on NetApp Accelerator Service.

As part of the agreement, Network Appliance is offering Oracle Consulting services as an option on all solution purchases designated for Oracle deployment. Network Applicance said the new service enables enterprise customers to rapidly deploy Network Appliance(TM) solutions in Oracle8i(TM) and 9i database environments by empowering them with access to expert consulting during solution installation, a best practices guide, assistance in optimizing system performance, and training certification from Oracle Consulting experts.

"The NetApp Accelerator for Oracle environments will serve as a 'jump-start' package for Oracle enterprise customers who continue to make the shift from traditional storage to Network Appliance network-centric storage architectures," said Dave O'Neill, vice president of advanced technology solutions at Oracle Consulting. "This relationship provides us additional distribution capabilities for implementing components of our joint architectural framework while reducing the complexity of infrastructure management."

The Oracle on NetApp Accelerator Service costs approximately $22,000 at a fixed price in the U.S. for a seven-day consulting package. This service fee can be included with the price of the NetApp storage appliance, and Oracle Consulting will deliver all services as a sub-contractor.
