LSI Logic Fibre Channel HBAs Earn Fibre Channel Certification

LSI Logic Corporation’s LSI44929, LSI40919, ITI7004G2, and LSI7202CP Fibre Channel host bus adapters (HBAs) have successfully met the Fibre Channel Industry Association’s(FCIA) SANMark qualification and logo criteria for SCD-2001 and SCD-2003.

“The SANmark Qualified Program provides an objective measure of product conformance against Fibre Channel Standards. By having open industry standards and certified conformance testing, interoperability issues can more easily be resolved,” said David Allen, senior product manager for LSI Logic’s Fibre Channel storage standard products. “Qualification of our 2 Gigabit HBAs is a continuing example of LSI Logic’s commitment to design excellence and storage solutions using the Fibre Channel interface.”

The company said FCIA recently released SANmark Conformance Documents (SCD) for public devices operating on Arbitrated Loop (SCD-2001) as well as Fabric Attached Devices (SCD-2003). According to LSI Logic, its 2 Gigabit HBAs are the first HBAs to achieve SANmark qualification for the 2003 Fabric Attach Device standard.

According FCIA, SANmark qualification proactively resolves key protocol and multi-vendor integration challenges and promotes mainstream compatibility and consistency across heterogeneous Fibre Channel-based SANs.
