Online storage and archiving startup Digitiliti has released the second version of its DigiLIBE data management platform with enhanced controls for storage management, user access and security.
DigiLIBE is Digitilitis information management system and makes use of a centralized policy engine to identify, capture, deduplicate, secure, index, store and archive unstructured data. DigiLIBE is comprised of three components a Client Agent, Information Director, and Archive Information Store to create what the company has termed aVirtual Corporate Library (VCL), where content can be accessed by users and applications regardless of where the data is stored. The VCL protects, controls and secures data from creation to deletion.
The software captures data at the client upon save/close and emails on send and receive. The Information Director collects file metadata during the capture process and performs a range of tasks aimed at wrangling unwieldy file data, including compression, data deduplication, indexing and automated tiering, ultimately sending data to the offsite Archive Information Store.
The system also offers integration with Active Directory, LDAP or custom policies for secure storage and access to files and emails, and encrypts data with 256K or 512K encryption schemes before and after transmission.
With DigiLIBE 2.0, which is available now to existing users as a no charge upgrade, the system now allows multiple users to access and save their key data on the same PC, offers centralized management of all end user data, and automatically provide each user with their own DigiLIBE data profile and account.
In addition, users have the ability to log on to any computer (that has the DigiLIBE client installed) on the same network and access their data anywhere in the network and administrators now have automatic resource availability if an end users PC goes down, a feature that protects roaming user data.
Version 2.0 sends all information over a secure session and features enhanced reporting capabilities.
DigiLIBE now supports large graphic files with the integration of Adobes open licensed XMP library for graphics files, allowing users working with graphic files such as TIFF, JPEG, PNG, GIF and PDF to archive, manage, and support these file types.
Ken Peters, executive vice president, Digitiliti, said the enhancements offer channel partners an integrated platform for on-premise and offsite cloud services deployments.
This release is 100 percent for the channel to help them serve both markets hybrid clouds and pure cloud scenarios, said Peters.
The DigiLIBE client agent software starts at $100. The DigiLIBE Information Director is available in 3TB or 12TB configurations and starts at $20,000. Pricing for the Archive Information Store is based on capacity usage and is approximately $3 per gigabyte per month.
