SANTA CLARA, Calif. — The data storage company Hitachi Vantara is introducing “centers of excellence” and a set of services to help enterprises manage their cloud applications.

Hitachi Vantara launched its Hitachi Application Reliability Centers, an “evolved portfolio” of cloud consulting and managed services, according to the company last month.

The centers are intended to help clients “accelerate innovation,” by migrating, managing, and automating cloud workloads, reliably and at scale.

They are designed to enhance the coordination between product engineering and operations teams and “dramatically” improve application reliability.

Hitach Vantara believes the complexity of cloud operating models requires new approaches to ITOps that “enhance automation and simplification.”

Hitachi Application Reliability Centers incorporate a site reliability engineering (SRE)-focused strategy with application modernization services.

The geographically dispersed physical and virtual centers are where cloud applications are monitored and optimized by the company’s professional services teams to “ensure client-defined KPIs are consistently achieved.”

Each site brings together frameworks, design patterns, and automated tools as well as staff to offer SRE-as-a-service and 24/7/365 cloud management. The first physical centers will be in Dallas, Texas and Hyderabad, India.

Hitachi Application Reliability Centers incorporate the consulting and technical expertise of over 1,000 application migrations and over 2,000 team members with 1,300 public cloud certifications.

“Achieving KPI-driven outcomes for cloud workloads requires a fundamental shift from simply managing infrastructure to managing the efficiency and reliability of the applications,” said Frank Antonysamy, chief digital solutions officer, Hitachi Vantara.

Antonysamy said the centers can free up client resources and talent that can be deployed in “new ways to accelerate their digital transformation” through artificial intelligence (AI), data analytics, and insights.
