Quantum Corp.'s DLTtape(TM) Group today announced a new tape autoloader, the Quantum 16-cartridge SuperLoader, which offers a capacity of up to 3.5 terabytes (TB.
The company said the Quantum SuperLoader system can backup data at up to 22 megabytes (MB) per second, or approximately 79 gigabytes (GB) per hour compressed. It offers remote Web-based management capability.

Initially, Quantum said the SuperLoader system is set to be available with either a Quantum SDLT 220 or DLT1 tape drive with Qualification units available before the end of the year.
