StorageNetworks, Inc. , a provider of data storage management software and services, today announced that it has expanded its relationship with Merrill Lynch and will be providing data storage management services to the financial leader in Tokyo and Makuhari, Japan.
StorageNetworks said it has been working with Merrill Lynch in the New York metropolitan area for nearly two years, implementing a storage area network (SAN) and providing ongoing storage management services and software for the financial firm.
"Over the past two years, we have been very pleased with the results of our work with StorageNetworks in New York," said Chris Corrado, CTO, Global Technology Infrastructure Services for Merrill Lynch. "They played a critical role in our migration to, and ongoing management of, a SAN environment. Their technology and commitment to customer support and service was particularly invaluable to us in the hours and days following the World Trade Center attacks. We look forward to extending this same excellence to our Tokyo-based operations."
According to the StorageNetworks, its StorageNetworks STORos software management platform helps Merrill Lynch gain greater control of its assets and automate storage management tasks such as provisioning and change and event management.
