Compaq to Provide Brocade Switches

Brocade Communications Systems and Compaq Computer Corporation have expanded their OEM partnership. Compaq will now offer the Brocade SilkWorm 12000 Core Fabric Switch to its customers worldwide.

With this announcement, Compaq said it now offers the spectrum of Brocade products to its storage customers under the Compaq StorageWorks brand, ranging from entry-level 8-port solutions to the SilkWorm 12000 Core Fabric switch, which will be available from Compaq in 32-, 64- and 128-port configurations. Compaq expects the SilkWorm 12000, as the Compaq SAN Switch Core 64, to be available in early May in initial configurations.
