BakBone Software(TM) this week announced its certification of Quantum Super DLTtape drives. BakBone's NetVault(TM) creates a migration path from DLTtape drives to Super DLTtape environments and provides channel partners the ability to upsell existing NetVault customers.
Quantum's Super DLTtape capacity and speed enable IT departments to handle the dramatic increases of critical data generated in enterprises and data warehousing environments. With BakBone's certification of Quantum's next-generation Super DLTtape drives, Quantum can extend flexibility to its customers of the BakBone NetVault open tape format solution.
"BakBone Software strives to provide customers with best-in-class Super DLTtape products that help to ensure business-critical data is fully protected and can be easily and quickly accessed," said Andy Grolnick, Vice President, Marketing, Quantum DLTtape Group. "The capacity, speed, reliability and compatibility of Super DLTtape drives coupled with BakBone Software addresses the needs of a broad spectrum of mid-range users."
According to BakBone, NetVault uses industry standard, non-proprietary formats allowing for easy data interchange and disaster recovery protection. NetVault produced tapes can be read by any Linux, UNIX or Windows NT-based system.
