St. Bernard Software Open File Manager product has been awarded Tivoli Ready certification with IBM’s Tivoli Storage Manager backup solution.

Tivoli Ready is the official program where products are tested and certified for compatibility with Tivoli solutions. The program recognizes third-party products, such as Open File Manager, which have met interoperability and functionality requirements with Tivoli technology solutions.

In order to attain Tivoli Ready certification, St. Bernard was required to meet specific testing requirements to assess the compatibility and interoperability of its Open File Manager solution with Tivoli Storage Manager. Testing the compatibility of these products focused on two major areas — performance measurements for backup, and the functionality of Open File Manager with Tivoli Storage Manager

St. Bernard said Open File Manager solidifies a company’s data protection strategy by allowing existing backup software to successfully capture files that are open and in use during the backup process, even if they are changing during the backup.
