Grau Data Storage Unveils Tape Library

Grau Data Storage has unveiled a new tape library called the Infinistore Tape Library/64.

According to the company, the Infinistore Tape Library/64, which is aimed at the mid-sized library market, incorporates the latest version of Sony’s AIT (Advanced Intelligent Tape) technology. Offering 2 to 4 drives and up to 64 cartridges, Grau Data Storage said the Infinistore Tape Library/64 boasts transfer rates in excess of 450 GB/hr compressed (170 native) and a storage capacity of 6.4 terabytes (TB) uncompressed and up to 16.6 TB compressed.

Initially the Infinistore Tape Library/64 will be offered with an LVD SCSI interface. Fibre Channel connectivity for direct attachment in Storage Area Networks (SANs) is slated to be available later this year.
