NEC Corporation’s File Division has completed its certification of Vixel Corporation’s 9200 16-port 2G/s switch for its full line of iStorage solutions.

“With the iStorage platform, NEC is able to offer storage solutions to a variety of customer types, all of which meet their 24 X 7,365 day a year availability requirements,” says Yasuhisa Watanabe, Assistant General Manager of NEC System File Products Division. “After extensive testing by NEC System File Products Division, Vixel’s 9200 switch has met those requirements as well and is now certified with our iStorage Series solutions. We have enjoyed a productive partnership with Vixel and we look forward to continued collaboration as we provide new and exciting solutions to our growing base of storage customers.”

NEC said its iStorage platform is made up of a suite of data storage and management products configured into three series, the S1100, S2100 and S4100 Series, which provide centrally managed storage solutions for low, mid-range and high-end applications, respectively.
