Dell (NASDAQ:DELL) has recently announced its intent to acquire cloud-based medical archiving leader InSite One. The InSite One solution helps customers reduce costs associated with long-term data storage and migration, provide off-site disaster recovery services and eliminate one of the biggest shortcomings in healthcare todaythe sharing of images between medical professionals in the diagnosis and treatment of disease.
As reported in this Dell announcement, the acquisition is a strategic transaction for Dell -- allowing the company to extend its Unified Clinical Archiving (UCA) solution to include Cloud capabilities. InSite One expands Dells existing UCA solution for healthcare organizations by adding private cloud archive and storage-as-a-service to its portfolio.
