東京発 — メモリーハードウェアメーカーのKioxia Holdings Corporationは、半導体設計会社のChubu Toshiba Engineering (CTE) Corporationを買収する。
キオクシアは、開発力の強化、エンジニア人材の確保、コスト効率の向上を目的に、CTEの全株式を取得すると先月発表した。
今回の買収により、製造工場の設計、運用、生産全体で相乗効果が生まれ、「企業価値」の向上につながる見通しだ。
この取引は、「必要な手続き」の完了後、2022年上半期に完了する予定だ。
CTEはキオクシアの子会社となる。
CTEは、半導体関連のハードウェアおよびソフトウェアの設計、試作、評価を専門としている。
同社は、開発から量産まで半導体製造技術に関する経験を有し、「高度な技術力」を培ってきた。
これまでCTEは、キオクシアにエンジニアリングサービスも提供してきた。
キオクシアは「メモリーの新時代」に取り組み、「メモリーで世界を高める」という使命を掲げている。
