CNT and StorageTek Alliance Extended to Professional Services

CNT and StorageTek have been offering customers joint technology solutions for many years. “CNT’s disaster recovery and business continuity offerings and experience enabling remote storage enhance our ability to address customers’ backup and business continuity challenges,” said Tim Steadman, StorageTek’s director, Corporate Alliances. “We’re always looking for ways to further integrate StorageTek solutions into customers’ IT environments, as well as their business processes. The practice is a suite of professional services, which include business impact analysis (BIA), data availability assessment, bandwidth consolidation assessment, enterprise backup assessments, business continuity planning, solution design, integration and implementation, and life cycle maintenance services.

As a complement to its storage product offerings, StorageTek provides a host of professional and operational services to help their customers meet strategic business objectives. StorageTek offers affordable, flexible, scalable and reliable end-to-end business continuity solutions for open systems. StorageTek’s numerous services include Managed Storage Services for remote storage management in networked storage environments, and Multi-Vendor Services to reliably deliver hardware and software support for open systems storage infrastructure. CNT’s professional services are now included with these offerings.

This new professional service relationship builds on an extensive product partnership in which CNT’s UltraNet products support StorageTek’s complete line of mainframe and open systems offerings for tape vaulting and data replication. CNT and StorageTek’s joint solutions for customers now include StorageTek T9840 tape extension, extension of Virtual Storage Manager(TM) (VSM) systems, Remote Clustered Virtual Tape Storage System(TM) (VTSS) tape mirroring, Power Peer-to-Peer Remote Copy (PPRC) remote disk mirroring with the Shared Virtual Array(TM) (SVA), and D-Series Remote Volume Mirroring.
