Chaparral Network Storage and Sanbolic have announced an expansion of their strategic relationship. The relationship brings a RAID storage volume sharing product to the Windows NT and Windows 2000 market.
Chaparral will integrate the Sanbolic volume sharing software into Chaparral's StratisRAID storage products. The integrated software solution, RAIDar Access Manager, provides SAN users with volume sharing capabilities and allows them direct access to all data on the storage network through a fibre channel connection. The improvement of the data management and accessibility across the SAN will, according to the companies, create a time saving and cost effective storage environment.
"The integration of RAIDar Access Manager into Chaparral RAID solutions will fulfill the Windows market demand for a highly functional and cost effective storage solution," said Cooper Cowart, Chaparral Network Storage vice president of marketing. "Sanbolic's software is a perfect complement to our StratisRAID storage systems, which provide an unprecedented value to Windows NT and Windows 2000 customers."
"We are pleased that Chaparral has chosen Sanbolic as a strategic partner. Offering complete SAN solutions with data sharing software, in combination with their StratisRAID systems shows that they understand and meet their customers' needs," said Eva Helen, vice president of business development at Sanbolic.
The agreement enables Chaparral Network Storage to distribute an integrated software solution in its StratisRAID storage solution to Windows NT and Windows 2000 customers worldwide. RAIDar Access Manager will be available to purchase in the third quarter through -- distributors and resellers in the United States, Europe and Pacific Rim.
