American Megatrends Updates StorTrends NAS Software

American Megatrends Inc. (AMI) has released the altest version of its network attached storage (NAS) software, StorTrends(tm) NAS software version 1.1.

The company said this updated version, with added support for Apple and NetWare, is ready for integration into AMI’s StorTrends and ServTrends storage solutions. New features in version 1.1 include: Apple support (AFP and AppleTalk) to enable the connection of Apple machines to the NAS server; NetWare support (NCP and IPX) to enables the connection of NetWare machines to the NAS server; HTTP to allow file transport to directory/files (read only) for use of a web browser; and FTP based file transport support to allow NAS use for accessing files (read and write) from FTP clients. Other features include secured administration access (using SSL), a NAS Management Station, NDMP incremental backup enhanced features, and a new GUI.

The StorTrends 1108-P (1U, eight drive Ultra160 SCSI hot swap unit), StorTrends 1312-P (3U, 12 drive Ultra160 SCSI hot swap unit) and ServTrends 1100-P (multi-purpose server appliance) feature StorTrends NAS software and AMI’s Indium NAS controller.
