today announced that its SANaccelerator(TM) and File Cache Accelerators have been certified with
LSI Logic’s2-Gigabit LSI44929O and LSI40919O Fibre Channel host bus adapters (HBAs).
“LSI Logic’s HBAs are industry leaders in reliable, robust Fibre Channel solutions for clustered environments and SANs. We’ve hit over 72,000 I/Os per second with small block reads using two channels. That’s a real performance edge. Having our boards certified with Imperial Technology’s storage devices enables a customer solution with industry leading performance,” said Robert Anderson, LSI Logic’s HBA group director. “Imperial’s application accelerators have the performance capabilities that complement our 2-Gbps Fibre Channel HBAs and dramatically enhance I/O performance.”
LSI Logic has more than 10 years’ experience in engineering Fibre Channel storage market solutions with products that span the spectrum for storage market solutions including HBAs, I/Cs, RAID storage adapters and open enterprise storage systems. LSI Logic recently acquired the MegaRAID product line and RAID technologies, making LSI Logic the market leader in host-based RAID solutions. LSI Logic HBAs are available through distribution partners such as Arrow Electronics, Avnet, Bell Micro Products, and Insight Electronics.
The SANaccelerator is the first data acceleration device specifically designed to improve application performance in a SAN. When connected to a SAN, it becomes a dynamic performance resource for selectively improving application performance when and where it is needed. The SANaccelerator leverages the traditional benefits of solid state disk technology from typical single-server, single-application environments to potentially every server and every application in the SAN.
