In a new release presented on PR Newswire, Nirvanix announced the appointment of Paul Froutan as Chief Technology Officer (CTO), effective immediately. This addition of a cloud technology innovator to its growing executive management team will enhance Nirvanix’s technology leadership and increase market share gains against both cloud service providers and storage hardware vendors. Froutan, experienced extensively in the cloud services industry, was most recently at Google (NASDAQ: GOOG) as Head of Global Data Center Infrastructure. Prior to Google, Froutan led the team that pioneered the launch of Rackspace Cloud and other key managed services when he was Vice President of Product Development at Rackspace Hosting.
“’Nirvanix is at a strategic inflection point in the cloud industry with substantial differentiation and growth potential,’ said Paul Froutan, CTO, Nirvanix. ‘The company is the only service provider to own a Public Cloud Storage Network and deliver Private Cloud Storage nodes, enabling it to provide Hybrid, Federated Cloud Storage with complete network visibility, management and service level guarantees. I plan to expand upon this competitive advantage and enable the company to make significant inroads in a market that is forecast to reach $7B by 2014.’”
