Eclipsys, EMC Sign Reseller Agreement

Eclipsys Corporation announced that it has entered into a reseller agreement with EMC Corporation. EMC has become Eclipsys’ preferred provider of online information-storage solutions.

“This agreement provides our customers with access to EMC’s Symmetrix and CLARiiON Enterprise Storage systems, which employ proven, flexible, compatible architectures and advanced software to offer fast, scalable and highly reliable access to information,” said John Depierro, Eclipsys executive vice president. “EMC’s storage solutions are an excellent fit with the demands of the healthcare marketplace because the solutions are built to cost-effectively support the huge growth in information storage and retrieval volumes that healthcare organizations continue to experience.”

“Healthcare providers are continually facing the challenge of making more information available to more people in more locations,” said Gregg Ambulos, EMC’s vice president of Global Channels. “The combination of Eclipsys’ advanced healthcare information solutions and EMC’s information-storage systems and software gives providers an information infrastructure that will allow them to leverage rapidly growing volumes of data to improve patient care.”

According to Eclypsis, more than 1,475 healthcare organizations use Eclipsys solutions to reduce errors, enhance workflow, and balance and improve clinical, financial and satisfaction outcomes. The company said tts SunriseXA product includes integrated software, architecture and services that support all members of the healthcare team with the knowledge they need to support and improve the organization’s four core processes — care delivery, patient flow, revenue and administrative management, and consumer relations. SunriseXA is built on a single, open, component-based Web architecture based on Microsoft .NET and other industry standards.
