said that its Instruments division and Shomiti Systems, a recent Finisar acquisition, will combine to form Finisar Systems.Officially a Division of Finisar Corp., Finisar Systems will provide Network Test and Quality of Service (QoS) products for Local Area, Storage Area and VoIP networks, officials said.
Finisar Systems will specialize in providing products for customers with Extended Enterprise LANs (10/100/1Gb/10Gb Ethernet), Storage Area Networks (1,2Gb Fibre Channel, InfiniBand and iSCSI) and VoIP Communications.
Key products will include the market leading GT and GTX family of 1 & 2 Gb/s Fibre Channel Analyzers, BERTs and error injectors, IBT Protocol Analyzers and BERTs for InfiniBand topology SANs, and new products for iSCSI such as the first to market GTX THG iSCSI Protocol Analyzer. Additional products include SAN QoS, a pioneer product for monitoring 1 & 2Gb Fibre Channel SANs, Surveyor 4.0 full seven layer Network Analysis software with Multi-QoS for VoIP Quality of Service, and THGs, the first all-in-one, full line rate 10/100/1Gb Ethernet Protocol analyzer.
