Insight and Analysis: Analyst firm Enterprise Strategy Group (ESG) said: “Commvault is delivering scale-out protection storage within [its] own software. You could call it built-in, software-defined, scale-out protection storage, but Commvault calls it HyperScale.”
An IDC survey of 700 users found a high degree of satisfaction with Commvault software.
However, it is aimed at the mid-market and enterprise, not for SMBs. Smaller companies looking for a scale out protection likely want to look elsewhere.
Implementation: The appliance can be installed out of the box in less than 30 minutes.
Delivery: Commvault HyperScale Technology may be delivered as either an appliance or as software based on a reference design.
Markets and Use Cases: Commvault HyperScale is not designed for SMB or home office. It is designed for larger environments that require greater scale, performance, support, and integration.
