Solid state storage solution innovator BiTMICRO Networks unveiled its new E-Disk 3F2 — the world’s first 2Gbit Dual-Ported Fibre Channel storage device with 77 GB of pure flash memory storage capacity in a 3.5-inch hard disk drive footprint.
BiTMICRO said that they developed the product in response to the increasing demand from the business enterprise, defense, telecommunications, networking, and aerospace industries.
Harnessing industry standard Fibre Channel interface, the E-Disk 3F2 solid state flash disk delivers greater than 12,500 IOPS (input/output per second), up to 400 MB/sec full duplex arbitrated loop burst data transfer rate and 42 microseconds access time. It is FC-PH, FC-AL 7.0, FCP-3, FC-PLDA and FC-FLA compliant and is available in storage capacities ranging from 512 MB to 77824 MB. It employs patented PowerGuard, FlashBus, and DataSentinel — the most comprehensive data protection package in the industry.

The E-Disks flash disk solutions are also offered with IDE and SCSI interfaces in 2.5-inch and 3.5-inch HDD footprints. The E-Disk product family requires no device drivers, is completely bootable and fully compatible with major platforms such as Linux, Solaris, Windows, MacOS and LynxOS, AIX, FreeBSD, HP-UX, IRIX, NetBSD, OS/2, QNX, VxWorks, SCO Unixware and Open Server, Solaris X86, and Tru64.
E-Disk storage devices are ideal drop-in replacements for conventional rotating media, such as HDD and tape drives that are not only prone to short production lives, but often fail in mobile computing and industrial environments where temperature fluctuations, shock, vibration, dust, moisture or magnetic fields are present.
