Xdrive Technologies Acquires FreeDrive

Xdrive Technologies, a provider of Internet information management software and services, has acquired the businesses of FreeDrive, a Enterprise Storage Application Provider.

According to the companies, the acquisition brings together FreeDrive’s consumer and commercial web-based storage applications with Xdrive’s software and services that provide access, storage, backup, sharing, synchronization and transactional management of information distributed via the Internet.

Xdrive said these expanded resources will help it to meet the growing demand for online storage and the technology that eases sharing of information from different devices and locations. The company also said combining the businesses expands its reach into key vertical markets and augments its business categories, adding to the consumer, small business and corporate base and further extending into the enterprise business market.

In additon, Xdrive said the acquisition also extends its geographic reach, adding a Chicago link to its network of sales and support offices in Atlanta, Boston, New York, San Francisco and Salt Lake City. The corporate headquarters will remain in the Los Angeles area.
