Exabyte Corporation , a tape backup vendor, and CommVault Systems, a provider of data management solutions, announced that Exabyte’s native Fibre Channel Mammoth-2 (M2) tape drive and X80 and X200 libraries have been certified for CommVault Galaxy data management software version 3.7 for Windows NT 4.0, Windows 2000 and Sun Solaris 8 operating systems.

This is yet another step in establishing our Fibre Channel tape systems as the best logical choice for a wide range of users.”

Exabyte said the fibre channel Mammoth-2 (M2) stores up to 150 gigabytes of data with a sustained transfer rate of up to 30MB per second. Mammoth-2 is also available in SCSI LVD and HVD. The Exabyte X80 offers native capacities up to 4.8 Terabytes and the X200 offers 12 terabytes of native capacity.
