Tek-Tools, Inc., a provider of XML-based software solutions, has made availability Storage Profiler 1.2, a Web-based storage resource management (SRM) solution with enhanced support for NetApp filers.
In additon, the company has joined network attached storage (NAS) vendor Network Appliance’s Advantage program. Network Appliance is on the forefront of data access and content delivery in large-scale enterprises, said Ken Barth, president of Tek-Tools. These environments are invariably heterogeneous and in various stages of implementation. Network Appliance not only understands but is committed to helping Advantage partners like Tek-Tools deliver cross-vendor management capabilities to customers, giving them a total solution.
According to Tek-Tools, Storage Profiler 1.2 is an enterprise-level solution providing automated usage trend reporting, capacity planning, and real-time monitoring for NAS resources. It is a cross-vendor software suite that is designed to make it easier for businesses to more efficiently manage the servers, databases, and storage components supporting mission-critical applications, backup processes, and disaster recovery operations.
“Organizations must become more efficient and make more informed decisions about how to meet growing storage requirements,” said John McArthur, group vice president of Storage Research at IDC, “but many lack both the resources and the time. Storage Profiler, with device specific information for NetApp filers, offers companies customizable yet easy-to-use management and forecasting tools for heterogeneous storage environments that reduce costs and avoid unpleasant surprises associated with inadequate planning.”
Storage Profiler Version 1.2 is available from Tek-Tools now
