Critical Path has announced a global agreement with EMC to cooperatively market advanced messaging solutions to leading carriers and enterprises around the world. The companies will initially offer a preconfigured, integrated solution along with tools and methodologies to support easy migration from other messaging systems.
The advanced messaging solution will combine Critical Path’s messaging and identity management technology with EMC’s information storage systems and software. According to the companies, Storage management, replication, back-up and recovery software from EMC greatly enhance this offering by enabling customers to harness the value of their information and access it regardless of source or destination. As part of the cooperative agreement, Critical Path and EMC will work together to propose additional solutions that utilize each company’s unique assets.
“Teaming with leaders in the telecommunications market helps EMC better understand our customer requirements,” said Bill Nelson, EMC’s senior vice president, telecommunications, media, and entertainment group. “We’re working with Critical Path to combine its leading messaging software with our leading information storage systems and software into a solution that will provide customers with unprecedented performance.”

In addition to this agreement, Critical Path will enhance the information storage infrastructure of its hosted messaging business, which will reduce operating costs and improve service and efficiency.
