TEL AVIV, Israel — The data engine Speedb is welcoming its first sales leader to the company.

Speedb hired Chip Ernst as its vice president of U.S. sales, according to the company this month. He will be part of the executive team.

Seed funded by Hyperwise Ventures, Speedb emerged from “stealth” mode in December 2021.

Ernst will help Speedb to reach more organizations that are looking to deploy data engines in their architectures for massive, hyper-scale data operations.

Speedb is a data engine that is delivered as a drop-in RocksDB-compliant embeddable solution.

Based in Boston, Ernst brings over 20 years of experience in building global sales teams from the ground up and driving strategic partnerships at tech startups and large multinationals.

Most recently, Ernst was VP of strategic sales at Lightbits Labs, he drove U.S. enterprise business development efforts and helped build scalable sales practices, while overseeing its indirect channels program.

Previously, Ernst served as VP of sales and business development for Reduxio (now Ionir), executive director of strategic alliances at Turbonomic (acquired by IBM), founded a data processing service provider in Amsterdam, and held senior business development roles at NetApp and General Electric.

“We welcome Chip Ernst as our first sales leader and are eager to leverage his proven skills to accelerate our growth ramp, as we help more developers fill the missing link in their modern data center architectures,” said Adi Gelvan, co-founder and CEO, Speedb.

“Chip will help us take our company, and the entire market, to the next level.”
