BRISTOL, England — The data storage software company StorMagic is welcoming an executive to its C-suite.
StorMagic hired Erik Murrey as its chief technology officer (CTO) and a member of its executive leadership team, according to the company this month.
In his role as CTO, Murrey is being tasked to build next-generation software to “fuel” the company’s growth as well as help customers store, protect, and use edge data “more efficiently.”
Murrey has over 20 years of global management experience with experience in software, hardware, and infrastructure.
Most recently, Murrey served as CTO and VP of engineering for StrongBox Data Solutions, where he led the global engineering team to deliver advanced analytics, data management, and SaaS solutions.
Previously, Murrey held lead architect and CTO positions at DigitalGlobe and AvConnect.
He is also a Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) and Scaled Agile Framework Expert (SAFe).
He studied business management and computer science at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
Danial Beer, the CEO of StorMagic, said Murrey is “the ideal addition” to the company’s management team, due to his “demonstrated history” in development team leadership and architecting and delivering products that “solve real-world end user problems.”
“His background will help us fine-tune our product suite to solve the forever data storage problems reported by our customers,” Beer said.
Murrey said StorMagic is positioned to “significantly impact how customers store data to and from the edge.”
“I’m excited to be a part of key design and development strategies to help them get there,” Murrey said.
