Emulex Corporation’s LightPulse 2Gb/s LP9002DC dual channel Fibre Channel HBA has achieved the Solaris Ready Certification from Sun Microsystems.
With the Solaris Ready designation for the LP9002DC, Emulex adds its dual channel PCI HBA to its product line that has received the Solaris Ready qualification for cPCI, PCI and SBus Fibre Channel HBAs, including the 2Gb/s LP9002L and LP9002C, market-leading LP8000 and SBus-based LP8000S HBAs.
“Sun has a long history of working with Emulex to provide customers with a broad range of storage networking products,” said Patric Chang, director, market development engineering, Sun Microsystems.
Sun said the Solaris Ready branding program is designed to provide customers a recognizable symbol for tested Solaris platform solutions from third-party solution providers. The company said to receive the Solaris Ready designation, products must complete a rigorous testing process conducted by an independent testing laboratory. Products are evaluated for interoperability, platform support, Solaris platform compliance, ease-of-installation, driver compatibility and product documentation.
